Two most common reasons to test for mold:
Buying a Home
Home inspections look for visible mold growth.
Unfortunately this isn't the full picture.
If a home has mold growth it doesn't just leave. It needs to be removed properly. Even if it was "washed" or "cleaned".
Mold tolerance varies from person to person. Just because the current owners don't show signs of mold exposure does not mean mold is not there.
If you do find mold don't fret. Pure Air North Carolina can typically be in and out in a few days so you can close on time.
Lingering illnesses
Mold exposure has been shown
to have the following effects:
-
Asthma
-
Sore Throat
-
Sinus Infections
-
Respiratory Issues
-
Muscle Aches
-
Neurological Issues
-
Coughing
-
Sneezing
-
Itchy, Watery Eyes
-
Headaches
-
Fibromyalgia
Since mold sensitivity varies from person to person it is possible (and common) that only one or two people in a household feel the effects of mold exposure.
If you suspect mold, or even if you're not sure, its worth a test for peace of mind.
Lab Verified Results
All tests are sent overnight to a third party lab to verify the type and amount of mold spores found.
Types of tests available:
-
Air Sample: The most common type of test. We pull one cubic meter of air through a filter to see the average spore count in a room.
-
Tape: A piece of "tape" is placed on growing mold verify the type of mold.
-
Culturable: An air sample is taken and the lab attempts to grow mold from the spores to verify if the spores are able to reproduce.
Results for air and tape tests are typically received within 2-3 business days.
Rush requests are available.
Viability test results are typically 7+ days
